Three Peaks is back

under new leadership!

Three Peaks Brewery started out in Kailua, Hawai‘i, and quickly became a neighborhood favorite. It was the kind of place where people felt at home—good beer, good vibes, and a strong sense of community. It made it through the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, but in the summer of 2022, the original owners, Steve and Keiko, had to make the tough call to close for personal health reasons.

Like a lot of regulars, Patrick was bummed to see it go. He’d spent plenty of time at Three Peaks while stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawai‘i – Kaneohe Bay, and had even brought friends there to share what made it special. When he came back from a month at sea and found it closed, it felt like the end of something meaningful.

That moment sparked an idea—what if someone brought it back?

Patrick and Julia reached out to Steve and Keiko to learn more. After talking through the numbers, the history, and what it would take, they decided to go for it. In 2023, they teamed up with Yasuhiko Ogawa, an investor introduced by Keiko, and the three of them found a new home for the brewery.

Patrick separated from the Marine Corps in January 2024 to focus on the business full-time, and from there, things got real. The liquor license process ended up taking 18 long months with no revenue coming in, and there were more than a few moments where it felt like things might not pan out.

But on June 6, 2025, the license was finally approved—and just like that, the next chapter of Three Peaks began.

Now based in Honolulu, we’re brewing again and excited to welcome everyone back—locals, visitors, beer nerds, and curious newcomers alike. Three Peaks is about more than just beer. It’s about building something people can feel part of. And we're just getting started.

MISSION

Our mission is two fold.  We look to serve you the most delicious, refreshing, and purist beer.  With our location being in Waikiki we strive to be the bridge between the world of Hawaii tourism and the beverages, snacks, and gifts of the rest of the island.

One of the challenges with delivering quality craft beer from a drought tower is oxidation. Beer is a living beverage that changes over time. The exposure of beer to oxygen during the dispensing process not only changes the flavor of the beer but also shortens its shelf life.

At Three Peaks we leverage a unique counter pressure filling system that first purges the vessel of oxygen and pressurizes the container with CO2 allowing the beer to flow smoothly from the keg-to-growler without foaming or exposing the beer to oxygen. Less foaming is less waste and less oxidation is better taste.

Beer from the tap is the freshest you can get but a draft system is not a sterile situation. Therefore, it is important to have properly maintained draft lines. Unfortunately not all bars keep their lines maintained, which can leave your draught polluted with unwelcome microbes. At Three Peaks we leverage a direct-draw dispensing system which reduces the line length from keg-to-tap thereby simplifying the cleaning process. Additionally, we employ Anti-Microbial Oxygen Barrier Tubing in our dispensing system to prevent diffusion of oxygen molecules into the beer and reduce the chances of contamination. This simplified dispensing system combined with counter-pressure filling techniques ensures our customers receive the freshest product possible exactly how the brewer intended it.
